Siding helps your home look its best and also protects your Rochester, New York area home from the elements. You can choose sidings of several types including aluminum, vinyl and wood. The use of aluminum sidings started after World War 2. The War left a surplus of aluminum, and it began to be used for making aluminum sidings for homes. The problem with aluminum is that it can easily get dented or scratched - however, aluminum sidings can be repaired, and the good looks of your home restored.
Although aluminum is known to cause heat-loss from a home, many people find that aluminum sidings are very energy efficient and save you money in terms of energy spent on heating the home in winter and keeping it cool during summer. Corrosion is another problem that you may face with aluminum sidings, but you can get around this by painting your aluminum siding. Make sure that you use a paint that is water-resistant.
A coat of paint will go a long way in protecting the aluminum siding from the elements and corrosion. Make sure that you don’t use a latex primer and paint when you’re painting the aluminum siding. The ammonia in the latex paint can cause the paint job to lose its quality. If you’re looking for a aluminum siding contractor in the Rochester area, we can help you connect with one.
